The specialty concentrations offered are Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner with Primary Care Focus, Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner ...The Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner provides holistic care for pediatric patients with acute, complex, critical, and chronic illness across a variety of care settings (including, but not limited to hospitals, intensive care units, subspecialty clinics, emergency departments, and the patient’s home). All graduates will be academically eligible for certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in both acute and primary care. Program Highlights. Students complete 250 hours in an individually designed clinical residency. Students complete 500 primary care clinical hours and 500 acute care clinical hours.Nurse-Midwifery. A path well-suited to those with a strong interest in women’s health, prenatal and postnatal care, this program, offered since 1977, prepares nurses to become leaders and change-makers for women everywhere. Applications are not being accepted during the 2024 admissions cycle.Post Master’s Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certificate students will learn how to diagnose and treat pediatric acute, critical and chronic care conditions, gain clinical competency, and apply evidence-based practices. Post-master’s certificate (PMC) students must successfully complete all didactic and clinical requirements of the desired area of practice. In order to obtain a PMC in nurse-midwifery or in a nurse practitioner specialty, students are required to complete a minimum of 500 supervised hours in direct patient care.Students in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner chose whether they will follow one of the following two tracks: Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner; Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner; Post Masters Certification Program.
